Biography

Jessica Allen performs regularly in musical theater productions, operas, choirs, and as a guest soloist throughout the region. Most recently she was a Novice in Suor Angelica with Opera Company of Middlebury (OCM) and the Housewife in Working by Stephen Schwartz with the Middlebury Community Players (MCP). In addition, she was a part of a twelve-person company for the Vermont Opera A Fleeting Animal by Erik Nielsen. She performed the roles of Gingy, Queen Lillian and Peter Pan in Shrek The Musical with The Company at Town Hall Theater, and was Grace Farrell in Annie and Maria in The Sound of Music with MCP. She has also performed with the Lyric Theatre Company, Hinesburg Artist Series and Marble Valley Players. Ms. Allen performed Lieder with the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria where she worked with world-renowned soprano Barbara Bonney.

She teaches private voice and Music Together at the Middlebury Community Music Center (MCMC) in Middlebury, Vermont, is Director of Music at The Congregational Church of Middlebury, UCC and Co-founder and Administrator of the Middlebury Bach Festival. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Voice from John Brown University and a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University.
